We are Docusign: Emily Creer

Our “We are Docusign” blog series places the spotlight on employees from a variety of departments and provides a peek into what it’s like to work at Docusign. This week we sat down with Emily Creer, Account Manager at Docusign APAC to chat about her day-to-day work, what she admires about her colleagues and something none of her co-workers know about her.

Q: What do you do at Docusign?

I’m an Account Manager at Docusign, looking after existing customers in the APAC region and I’ve been with Docusign since May 2016.  My job’s great because I get to hear all the success stories from our customers on how Docusign is helping their business.  I work on renewing current customers and helping them identify new use cases for Docusign within their businesses.

Q: What is the best thing about working at Docusign?

Without doubt, the people. Our team, especially here in APAC, is just a great bunch of people.  I spend over 50% of my day smiling at something one of my colleagues has said.  If you’re ever having a difficult day in the office, you know it’s not going to take long before you’re laughing again.

Q: What do your friends and family think you do at Docusign?

They know I work for a US tech company that provides a platform for electronic signatures – whether they could say it so eloquently, I couldn’t say.

Q: What is the best advice you can give to somebody starting a new job in your department at Docusign?

Learn to multitask quickly.  I have never had to juggle so many different tasks in one day in my life.  When I first started, I found it hard ending a day and not having completed everything on my to-do list – I’d never faced that before, but that’s now a daily occurrence. There are only so many hours in a day and you can only do so much, but you can work fast and that’s certainly needed in this role.  Its challenging but it’s one of the aspects I enjoy the most.

Q: What traits do you most admire in your colleagues at Docusign?

Their karaoke skills are top notch.  They’re a very determined and hardworking bunch of sales people and incredibly likeable.

Q: What traits do you think your Docusign colleagues most admire in you?

I’m dependable – I always do what I say I’m going to do. And I’m very honest – I always say it like it is.

Q: What is something most of your colleagues at Docusign don’t know about you?

I’m a classically trained soprano and have a borderline unhealthy obsession with The Phantom of the Opera amongst other musicals.

Q: What is your favorite snack from the Docusign kitchen?

Cheese.  Always.

Q: What is the best project you ever worked on at Docusign and why?

I see the development of the Account Management team within APAC as the best project I’m a part of here at Docusign.  When I joined, I was the only Account Manager in region and now there are three of us – soon to be four.  I’m excited to grow the team as our customer base continues to expand and see how we excel in the months ahead.

Q: If you were not working at Docusign and could do anything in the world, what would you be doing/do next?

Travelling, ideally on an unlimited budget, across Europe.  I’m originally from the UK and wish I’d made more of my proximity to Europe whilst living there.

Q: What is the secret for you to happiness?

Sunshine.
