Developer Spotlight: Blair Taylor, Obsiido

Blair Taylor is a seasoned CTO and serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in launching, scaling, and exiting technology startups in various domains. Blair has held senior technology roles in large organizations, leading R&D, M&A, and strategic initiatives. Blair has multiple certifications from AWS, Microsoft, Oracle and BTA (Certified Blockchain Solutions Architect), and multiple patents and publications on various technologies.

Currently, Blair is the cofounder and CTO of Obsiido, which offers a technology platform that delivers scalable software solutions to digitize alternative investment workflows for Canadian wealth enterprises, financial advisors and fund managers. Obsiido products, including Obsiido Client Core and Obsiido Pro, are fully integrated with the Docusign eSignature REST API, a project in which Blair was directly involved. 

Obsiido Client Core is designed to provide a fully digital client onboarding and lifecycle management solution for dealers and portfolio managers who are involved in the distribution of alternative investments. Obsiido replaces the legacy manual, paper-based client onboarding processes that are time-consuming, resource intensive and costly with a seamless process that captures all the client onboarding information, applies business rules and validations, and then automates Docusign templates so that the client only needs to review and sign. This is drastically more efficient than the industry norm, in which these documents are manually collated and individually signed in a process that can take up to two hours to complete. Obsiido handles all steps in the onboarding process including gathering and validation of KYC information, digital identity verification, key document gathering, and bank setup, and even schedules client meetings when required.
