Meet the winners of Docusign Hackathon: Unlocked

We were excited to collaborate with Devpost to host Docusign Hackathon: Unlocked, a three-month global hackathon providing developers with the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills by building solutions that go beyond eSignature, tackle real-world challenges, and enhance the agreement process end-to-end. 

With businesses worldwide struggling with inefficiencies due to the "Agreement Trap," this hackathon challenged participants to create innovative solutions that streamline workflows, unlock valuable insights, and automate processes using any Docusign APIs or the latest Docusign IAM capabilities such as:

• Maestro, a no-code automation tool for building new or extending existing agreement workflows that you can also integrate into your applications with a single API call.

• Navigator, a digital repository custom-built for storing, organizing, searching and retrieving agreements leveraging AI-driven insights.

Teams had the chance to build for various categories, including AI solutions, social impact initiatives, and discovering what’s possible. With Docusign for Developers, participants pushed the boundaries of agreement technology. Now, we’re thrilled to announce the winners!

🏅 AI-ify Your World winner: Agreefast for Docusign

Businesses face common struggles when dealing with complex legal agreements such as overwhelming contract terms, unclear obligations, and the fear of falling into unfavorable agreements. Agreefast for Docusign is a solution designed to simplify contact management by leveraging AI to analyze and track obligations in agreements, integrating seamlessly with Docusign. The platform provides users with AI-driven insights, including a custom Compliance Obligatory Score, helping them stay on top of contract terms before and after signing. 

Key features include:

• AI Contract Analysis: Analyzes contracts to calculate a compliance score and extract obligations for each party.

• Post-Signing Tracking: Extracts key dates and events from signed agreements, syncing them with calendars and task management tools like Trello.

• Envelope Chatbot: Provides a chatbot for users to interact with contracts and get answers regarding obligations.

• Trello Power-Up: Enables users to track contract milestones directly within their Trello boards.

🌍 Hack-for-Good winner: WolfieSign

WolfieSign is a straightforward, yet powerful dashboard designed to simplify the process of generating and managing legal agreements for nonprofit organizations. Inspired by the challenges faced by volunteers, particularly in handling common agreements such as GDPR and travel forms, the tool aims to automate these tasks and make the work of volunteers around the world a little easier.

Key features include:

• AI-Driven Document Generation: Uses OpenAI APIs to generate and modify agreements using natural language, enabling users to create tailored documents easily.

• Real-Time Document Previews: Provides live previews of document changes with client-side rendering for instant feedback.

• Bulk Agreement Distribution: Leverages the Docusign eSignature REST API to distribute agreements to multiple recipients and track their signing status in real-time.

• Group Organization: Allows users to organize signees into groups for easier document distribution and management.

🚀 Making the Impossible...Possible winner: ClariSign

Built by: Kyle Mantesso and Madison Hunt

ClariSign stemmed from a personal experience as a hiring manager, where they lost an exceptional neurodivergent candidate simply because their employment contract was inaccessible. With research showing that 20% of the global population is neurodivergent, the team recognized this issue as a widespread barrier to talent acquisition and economic inclusion. ClariSign is designed to remove these barriers by making complex contracts accessible without compromising their legal validity.

Key features include:

• Neurodivergent and Dyslexic Viewing Modes: Provides tailored viewing modes that cater to neurodivergent and dyslexic individuals for ease of accessibility and consumption.

• AI-Generated Summaries: Automatically generates simplified summaries of complex legal content.

• Text-to-Speech (“Read It to Me”): Offers a text-to-speech feature to read the contract aloud, making it more accessible to individuals with reading difficulties or visual impairments.

• Natural Language Q&A: Enables users to ask questions about contract terms and receive tailored responses in plain language.

• Docusign Integration: Ensures contracts maintain legal validity and are easy to sign while maintaining accessibility.
