DocuSign drives innovation through Fall '17 Release
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/-- As part of its commitment to help organizations around the world to transform paper-based processes into fast, easy and secure digital transactions, DocuSign – the global eSignature and Digital Transaction Management (DTM) leader – made the DocuSign Fall '17 Release available today.
The release includes enhancements and updates to the company's eSignature solution and broader DTM platform – the most significant of which include the introduction of 'comments' functionality, expansion of DocuSign Payments, alignment with FedRAMP authorization, and the extension of native iOS software development kit (SDK) for offline use.
"The Fall '17 Release builds on some substantial momentum over this year in terms of product innovation," said Ron Hirson, chief product officer at DocuSign. "Today's release focuses on responding directly to our customers' product feedback to give them the experience they are looking for, while seeing our continued drive to empower industries more broadly, including deeper support for the public sector with FedRAMP authorization."
Headlining the Fall '17 Release is DocuSign Comments – a feature designed in direct response to user requests where quick collaboration between senders, signers and customers is crucial. Those requests came because DocuSign users had questions about an agreement, which tended to be dealt with via phone, email or even text – all methods that are difficult to track, lack security and can be inefficient. However, with the new DocuSign Comments functionality – which comes to market in mid-October – senders and signers can collaborate by directly adding contextual comments to DocuSign documents inside the envelope.
In response to another user request – this time to embed DocuSign into custom apps for use offline – the DocuSign Fall '17 Release will include the Native iOS Offline Templates SDK. With this SDK, customers embedding DocuSign into their apps can ensure their users are able to complete transactions even if they are disconnected from the Internet.
The other focal product update in the DocuSign Fall '17 Release centers on DocuSign Payments – the functionality launched earlier this year that allows payments to be made and received at the same time a document is signed.
With the Fall '17 Release, DocuSign now supports payment gateway connections with Stripe and Authorize.Net (for US, UK, Canada & Australia), Braintree (for US and UK), and bank transfer through ACH (for US only). In addition, through the Stripe integration, US customers can now choose which payment methods their signers can use.
Lastly, the timing of the DocuSign Fall '17 Release coincides with the recent announcement that DocuSign had been granted authorization under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
This reflects the continued momentum behind digital transformation across the public sector – and the Federal government specifically. And this sees agencies looking for cloud computing technology to help deliver the cost, agility and innovation benefits that the private sector, as well as state and local government, have had for years.
Given that DocuSign helps to simplify the process of doing business by automating and digitizing paper-based workflows that require signatures, Federal agencies can now easily streamline internal operations to provide a fully-digital signing experience. They can also prepare agreements securely using existing documents and data from other systems, and specify the workflow to execute agreements with appropriate signer authentication controls in place.
