The world runs on agreements. They live in every function of every organisation. They can also be the greatest source of untapped value. Outdated agreement systems and processes trap critical information inside static documents, costing time and money for organizations of all sizes. We call this the Agreement Trap.

In Docusign 2024 Release 2, we’re announcing new capabilities in Docusign IAM that help you escape the Agreement Trap with intelligent agreement management, generative AI experiences, and smooth source-to-pay processes.

Connect agreement workflows and data

Today we’re releasing new capabilities in Maestro and Navigator, two of the flagship platform services of Docusign IAM. These new features help you automate complex agreement workflows and gain more valuable insights from agreement data.

Maestro

Docusign Maestro enables any team to create custom agreement workflows without writing a single line of code. In Release 2, we’ve added:

  • Advanced conditionality: Power complex workflows and minimize manual intervention when tasks are automatically routed based on predefined conditions.

  • Maestro workflows for Docusign CLM: CLM customers can now build in Maestro workflow functionality within CLM, unlocking access to ID verification, forms, and advanced signing capabilities.

Now available.

Docusign Navigator is a smart repository that centralises your agreements, unlocks the data in them and surfaces actionable insights. New features in Release 2 include:

  • Cloud storage upload: Allow users to upload agreements from cloud storage, simplifying storage processes, improving collaboration, and providing agreement visibility across your portfolio.

  • Expanded reporting: Leverage additional pre-built reports and advanced reporting capabilities to gain more agreement insights and improve efficiency.

  • Custom agreement type management: Create custom agreement types that reflect your organisation's specific agreements—allowing for greater flexibility, enhanced organisation, and more accurate reporting.

Streamline the source-to-pay process with SAP Ariba

For procurement teams, maximising contract value, increasing supplier performance, and minimizing risk are core responsibilities. These are all directly tied to data and clauses that are trapped within agreements. Integrating Docusign CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) with existing source-to-pay systems is critical to helping organizations unlock ROI and eliminate friction in supplier agreement processes.

In Release 2, we’re launching the Docusign CLM Connector for SAP Ariba to deliver a rich, embedded agreement experience, enabling procurement teams to create and manage agreements right from the Ariba interface with seamless data sharing between systems. This new app integration, available in the Docusign App Center, connects your SAP Ariba Contract Workspace with Docusign CLM to:

  • Create new supplier agreements directly from Ariba Contract Workspaces

  • Easily ingest third-party agreements

  • Seamlessly manage workflow tasks

  • Automatically update Ariba fields

  • Maintain audit history from both CLM and Ariba

This natively integrated user experience allows legal and procurement teams to collaborate more efficiently in the systems they use every day.

Accelerate contracting and manage risk with generative AI

Reviewing contracts, finding the right information within them, and interpreting complex legal terms take time and effort.

Today we’re announcing new capabilities to help automate these processes.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 integration

We’re excited to partner with Microsoft to be one of the first integrations with Copilot for M365!

The integration makes your agreements searchable by Copilot, the AI-powered chatbot available to Microsoft customers. You’ll now be able to answer important questions about your agreements in Docusign simply by asking Copilot a question, without having to leave the M365 application.

Coming soon.

AI-assisted review in Microsoft Word (Beta)

Today we’re announcing a beta for AI-assisted review in Microsoft Word.

This upcoming capability will enable organisations to automate contract review against pre-approved playbooks to streamline their review process across teams:

  • Automate contract review with AI: Review contracts against pre-approved playbooks and get markup suggestions to align language with your requirements. Give other teams the ability to review and negotiate without jeopardising compliance with your legal team’s requirements. Ensure that legal and non-legal teams across your organisation—no matter how large—review agreements according to the same standards and positions.

  • Get quick answers to contract-related questions: Use a generative Q&A experience to ask questions about your agreements like “Can I assign this contract” and get insights and links to relevant source text in seconds.

  • Generate new clauses and markups from scratch: Simply describe in plain English the language you’d like to insert, and let AI generate it for you. No more having to draft from scratch or trying to find the right reference clause.

Available now to select customers with broader availability coming in November. Reach out to your account team if you're interested in learning more.
