DocuSign Surpasses Eight Million Electronic Signatures Milestone
Use of DocuSign accelerates as electronic signatures prove a smart business decision in uncertain economic times
SEATTLE, WA (March 25, 2008) –DocuSign, the leading Web-based enterprise-class electronic signature service, today announced that it has completed more than eight million signature events since its launch in 2005. More than 70 percent of these eight million eSignatures were completed during the past 12 months alone, demonstrating the rapidly accelerating adoption of DocuSign.
DocuSign’s eSignature service enables companies to eliminate costly pen and paper-based signature processes and enjoy benefits such as up to a 300 percent increase in contract and sales close rates, elimination of paper processing costs, and over 90 percent reductions in the time required to complete and close contracts and transactions.
“During these uncertain economic times, customers are only purchasing technology that offers immediate profitability improvements without up-front capital investments,” said Matthew J. Schiltz, CEO and President of DocuSign. “DocuSign is a perfect fit for companies since we offer immediate, positive impact and because we are a software-as-a-service (SaaS) there is no capital investment required. Our rapid growth is also due to the fact that in uncertain times smart companies embrace transformational technologies like DocuSign.”
Beyond talking to DocuSign, customers are also talking to each other. Very often, once a company starts using DocuSign for signing documents and contracts, its partners and customers immediately see the advantages and begin adopting DocuSign in their own businesses. As a result of this viral, word-of-mouth effect, DocuSign is poised to become the standard for electronic signatures, supplanting antiquated paper methods such as faxes and expensive courier services.
DocuSign continues to win over customers and partners alike with its innovative offerings, including its most recent release, DocuSign Professional 2.0. Developed in response to customer requests for the ability to automate the document preparation process, DocuSign Professional 2.0 includes unique Intelligent Document Recognition (IDR) technology that automatically recognizes where electronic signatures and initials should be embedded within contracts and other business documents. With IDR, documents containing complex signing requirements and workflow can be prepared in just a few clicks of the computer mouse, eliminating up to 90 percent of the time and cost that it takes to physically route, sign and complete documents.
Because DocuSign is an enterprise-class hosted service it is easy for customers and partners to integrate or embed DocuSign’s eSignature service into their existing applications, software platforms, online services, Web sites, and business processes. DocuSign offers its customers, partners and resellers a powerful API that enables quick, seamless integration of its world class eSignature engine.
