DocuSign Exceeds Five Million Signature
Event Mark Ahead of Plan
Demonstrating Explosive Growth of eSignatures
Financial services, eCommerce, technology, travel, airline and real estate industries using Web-based eSignatures from DocuSign
SEATTLE, WA (September 12, 2007) –Highlighting the explosive growth of eSignature technology, DocuSign, the leading Web-based electronic signature service, today announced that it has surpassed the five million signature event mark. In contrast, by the end of 2006, DocuSign customers had completed 1.6 million signature events. By incorporating eSignatures into their contract and document signing processes, many companies including Expedia, LandAmerica Financial Group, RE/MAX, AMICA, Worldspan, Yamaha, Tektronix and Fidelity National Financial are able to increase revenue and close deals in record time.
Since paper and ink toner cartridges aren’t used nor planes
or trucks filled with document bearing packages, DocuSign and
its customers also have a positive impact on the environment.
As companies increasingly move to Web-based services, the traditional pen-and-paper
method of obtaining signatures critical to driving revenue, contracts and deals
is disappearing in many industries. As a proven enterprise-class hosted service,
DocuSign gives users such a positive return on investment that the need to print
and transport paper agreements for a pen signature has become obsolete.
Users rave about how intuitive and easy the DocuSign service
is to use. DocuSign customers use a simple drag-and-drop process
with digital yellow “sign here” tabs to sign documents.
Using only email and a Web browser, signers can quickly place
their legal, fully secure, unique, and permanent electronic signature
and esign documents in exactly the right location. The process
is very intuitive, helping companies finalize deals with their
customers or prospects in minutes rather than days.
An important part of customers’ decisions to choose DocuSign is based on the enterprise-class technology architecture which DocuSign has built and deployed. DocuSign’s hosted electronic signature service is housed in one of the world’s most secure facilities, a SAS 70 type II data center. Multiple levels of security and redundancy ensure maximum availability of mission critical applications. In addition, a complete real-time audit trail is attached to every document throughout the entire process, thus automating audit, reporting, and compliance issues.
“We’re very proud of the fact that we’ve surpassed the five million mark ahead of schedule, but what’s most important is that our customers across multiple industries are seeing the immediate benefits of using our eSignature technology,” said Matthew J. Schiltz, CEO and President of DocuSign. “Our customers close more deals, generate revenue much faster than their competitors and eliminate their paper costs. I don’t know of many other forms of technology that can match our positive impacts – DocuSign boosts our customers’ revenue growth and profits, and we have a very positive effect on the environment.”
