Grant Peterson
Chief Technology Officer & Vice President, Engineering
Mr. Peterson was recruited by DocuSign as CTO and Vice President,
Engineering in November 2007 from LexisNexis. From 2000 until 2007
he was Vice President, Product Development for LexisNexis where
he was responsible for the Litigation solution line, leading electronic
discovery, court eFiling, electronic court record retrieval and
case assessment. Peterson's role in helping to create the court
eFiling and court record retrieval markets for LexisNexis was substantial.
The products for which Peterson was responsible delivered sales
of $6 million in 2000, growing to $145 million in 2007.
From 1994 until 2000, Peterson was the Director of Product Development
for Primus Knowledge Solutions where he directed 30 technical staff
and delivered the 3 major Primus eService Internet solutions. As
a member of the management team, Peterson positioned Primus as
the leader in the support resolution space and the preferred vendor
by the world’s leading technology companies. Primus experienced
a successful IPO in 1999 achieving a total market cap of $1.2B.
Prior to Primus, Peterson spent from 1990 to 1994 as a Software
Architect and Development Manager at Halliburton Geophysical Services
where he designed and implemented the Halliburton Interactive Seismic
Processing system. This revolutionary system transformed the traditional
batch seismic practice to an interactive, in-filed solution supporting
real-time processing and refinement of oil and gas exploration
projects.
Prior to Halliburton, Peterson spent from 1985 until 1990 as a
Sr. Software Engineer for Sierra Geophysics, Inc., where he developed
an architecture independent user interface, system programming
and graphic application toolkit supporting oil and gas exploration
technology. Sierra Geophysics Inc. supported an acquisition by Halliburton in 1989.
Peterson holds an eMBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
